2023
Our 2023 International Nurse Conference focused on the synergy between mental and physical health. Simon Weston CBE co-chaired the event along with Chief Nursing Officer Jo Lynch, (SaBP) and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Paula Tucker (SASH). Keynote speeches were delivered by Simon Weston CBE and best-selling self-help author Paul McKenna.
2022
International Nurses' Day 2022 was celebrated at Surrey and Borders with our second Nursing Conference. Our theme; A Voice to Lead and focus on 'Ubuntu' and ancient African word meaning 'humanity towards others'
Our keynote speakers Chris Lubbe, former bodyguard to Nelson Mandela, shared his own personal story, and anecdotes he learned from working with Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, and Cynthia Barginere, DNP, RN, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), discussed Nursing in America and working together globally.
